As you guys already probably know, each holiday I love searching for and giving our kids a new book to freshen up our home-library. As a former elementary teacher, I am passionate about learning through stories and providing a way for children to feel heard, understood, and challenged by other’s perspectives. And of course, I also love a good board book to teach rhyming and repetition for the younger ones. I have linked some favorites- some classics and some new just this past year, that I think your kids might like!
To me, valentine’s day isn’t just about heart-shaped crafts and all things pink and red. It’s about self-acceptance, love, forgiveness, kindness, inclusivity, and compassion. Many of these books touch on these themes in a powerful way.
Click on a book and shop directly from there. I truly appreciate those who purchase through my links if you find something you like! And if you don’t love shopping this way, you can always call your local bookstore and order through them. I know Lake Forest Bookstore has a convenient online book ordering system, which is quick and easy, and a great way to support local retail. Happy reading!
